Behind Closed Doors – Surgical Photography

About 12 years ago I started photographing in the operating room and now have the opportunity to photograph numerous surgeries worldwide. My background is in the medical industry so when I first started studying photography, I thought it would be interesting to take my camera into a world that very few people see.  I have always wanted these images to the bring awareness to these amazing people who are dedicated to saving lives. This image was taken in Paris France and it highlights orthopedic surgery and the orange cast was obtained via an orange filter. (I only use the natural light when I photograph in the OR) I will be posting images from many different types of surgical images from around the world and share my stories. In addition an upcoming blog will take you into the OR and describe the different aspects that are involved.  Get your booties on!
