Photo Girl Travels

Taking the Road Less Traveled

East Chop Lighthouse

After climbing 33 steps up a narrow spiral staircase I realized I was not there. A narrow ladder in a tiny room seemed to be the only way to the top. I wish I had taken a photo but my fear of heights got the best of me. Once at the top you have to squeeze through an opening. Ugh! I, for what ever reason did the squeeze and took one pic before carefully finding my way down.

Here’s the one pic I took before my near panic attack πŸ˜‰ this lighthouse is just outside of Oak Bluffs on East Chop Drive. Let’s just say I survived the chop. Off to Vineyard Haven!

  1. Lovely photos! I realised some decades ago that I could very easily become geekily obsessed with American lighthouses and controlled myself to not get into yet another nerdy area of interest (I am already into the histories of sideshows and plagues). However, now that I actually live in America, I may not be able to resist the temptation. I saw the first photo on your post and immediately thought how I must go see some lighthouses.
