Phil’s Fish Market is one of the BEST seafood restaurants/ markets in Northern California. It’s not easy to find and yet it’s packed day. I’ll add a map at the end so you can see how to get there. You can order seafood to go, or sit at the bar and watch the oysters being shucked. There are tables in the main area or you can sit outside and listen to the ocean. The food in the pics below are not what I ate. We are eating in Carmel so two nice people let me take pictures of their lunch 😉

Road Trip to Carmel-Fab Farmers Mkt!

When you’re in Moss Landing and right on highway 1 you’ll find the BEST farmers market. The Whole Enchilada Market Place. Picked from the fields that morning: sun warmed strawberries, artichokes the size of your head, asparagus, blood oranges, avocado a and grapes the size of a plum. The prices are very inexpensive. I got asparagus and eggplant to grill and a ton of veggies for my NutriBullet green drinks. Next, the seafood market. I’m hoping they are open!
Road Trip to Carmel – First Stop Moss Landing
I’ve never done this before, but I’m going to try posting as I do my trip! It’s Sunday morning, and I’m on a road trip, heading down to Carmel. First stop is Moss Landing. I’m in the State Park and just shoot this photo of the harbor. It’s sunny and 60 degrees. A beautiful day! Next stop, a fabulous farmers market.

Utilizing an advanced process which infuses dyes directly into the metal, the colors and saturation are really amazing. In addition, your print will be displayed using mount blocks which float the image ½ inch off the wall.

Nor-Cal Day Trip – Seafood & Farmers Market Adventure
Here’s a fabulous place for lunch and local farmers market if you’re looking for a day trip in Northern California. From Santa Cruz, take Highway 1 south. As you weave your way along you’ll run into the town of Moss Landing. I know I’ve mentioned this place before but wanted to give you a few more details. The first place you’ll want to stop is The Whole Enchilada Farmers Market which is on Highway 1. Everything is locally grown and the prices are very inexpensive. They also have some exotic fruits and vegetables which are hard to find. From there head over to a recent find of mine called Phil’s Fish Market. I guess most people know about this place (As I’ve noted by the looks of shock when tell people about it – “What? You’ve never been? Are you completely mad? I’ve been eating there for years!”) Anyway, once I found it, I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s super casual so dining alone is no problem. Be sure to get there early because it’s always packed. When it’s warm you can sit outside and enjoy an ocean view. After lunch the options are endless! Monterey! Carmel! Let me know if you go and if you have a favorite item that you order, I’d love to share that too.
The blue dot shows where the farmer’s market is. You can also see the call out for Phil’s. Hope you head over soon!
