If you head south on Highway one from Santa Cruz you’ll pass a town called Moss Landing. A lot of people probably drive right by. At first glance, your eyes are drawn to the huge smoke stacks. But don’t let that deter you – there are some beautiful views, a harbor and a few good places to visit. When you see the sign for Moss Landing you’ll also see The Whole Enchilada Market Place. They have a unique farmers market where you can find many exotic fruits and vegetables at very reasonable prices. You’ll also find a fabulous restaurant called Phil’s Fish Market. I stumbled upon it on my last trip and would make a special coastal run just to eat there. It’s packed (I mean packed) so try to get there early (directions below). If you want to take off on your own and try this trip, I would highly recommend it. Get a good “Books on CD” and hit the road. You won’t regret it! (I took this photo on a cold, foggy morning. I absolutely love photographing in the fog! It softens the world around you muting colors and shapes.) Continue reading “Moss Landing CA Excursion”

Cliff Walk in Santa Cruz
In Santa Cruz, California there is a fabulous walk you should absolutely try! Located along West Cliff Drive, this walk allows you to stroll with an ocean front view for miles. It’s easy to find, just park by the Natural Bridges State Park and you’ll see the path that curves along next to the cliffs. (Directions below) If you walk from Natural Bridges to the municipal wharf it’s about an 8 mile round-trip. Before you go, stop at your favorite coffee shop and get what my sister calls a “road joe”. It’s a perfect walk if you’re alone (very safe) or with friends. Along the way you’ll see the lighthouse, surfer memorial and municipal wharf (lined with shops and restaurants). More photos to follow but for now this photo shows me at the start. On your mark…get set!
Got it Covered

When you’re packing for your trip, whether it be short or long…bring a hat. Especially good if you were born with curls. I have an entire shelf of baseball caps and never leave home without one. I grew up in New Mexico so the hat in the photo is one of my favorites.
Would you like a print? Please click on “Contact”. My photography is printed on aluminum. Utilizing an advanced process which infuses dyes directly into the metal, the colors and saturation are really amazing. In addition, your print will be displayed using mount blocks which float the image ½ inch off the wall.
